Tomas. How bout if ME terrorists decide to sink a super tanker?

Am I crazy to think this is possible? Not really. With the explosion of violence and bloodshed between Isreal and the Palestinians this kind of attack against the oil consuming nations and the US in particular has to be considered a real possibility in light of current circumstances.

Our economy and national security are skating on the thinest ice in many years. Recent news has indicated that the international sea lanes ARE vulnerable to terrorism and piracy. In fact read press coverage via the web, just a couple of months ago, (might even have been one of yours, Tomas) about a large oil tanker being taken over by pirates between Malaysia and Singapore.

There are numerous areas were piracy of international cargo ships is a serious problem and that's where terrorists have almost a free shot at sinking one or more super tankers and thereby create an even bigger crisis than is already in the offing.
