Tandem Resources Ltd. Reports Diamond Discovery

Tandem Resources Ltd. ("Tandem") reports that diamonds have been discovered in a kimberlite dike near Abloviak Fiord in Ungava Bay, Northern Quebec. The diamonds both the macros and micros, were found in the initial sampling of over 100 kilos submitted to Lakefield Laboratories at Lakefield, Ontario. Only a portion of this sample has been tested and Lakefield reports verbally that 8 diamonds have been identified with at least two being larger stones or of the macro variety. It is expected that it will be several weeks before testing of the entire sample will be complete. Further, the samples were attained from a kimberlite dike which has been traced for about six kilometres, or about 3.5 miles and is about 2.0 metres wide.

Tandem's interest in the subject area where the diamonds have been found is as follows: Tandem may acquire a 40% interest in 470 square kilometres in and around Abloviak Fiord, after $5.0 million has been spent by an American company, Diamond Discoveries International, which is shortly to go public in the United States. To acquire the 40% interest, Tandem must pay $2.0 million or 40% of the costs incurred by Diamond Discoveries. At the point Diamond Discoveries has expended $5.0 million Tandem has sixty (60) days to raise the funds. Tandem has also given Diamond Discoveries the exclusive right for a short time (21 days) for it to finance Tandem for the 40% interest after the $5.0 million has been spent. All agreements just described are subject to the approval of the appropriate regulatory authorities.

An exploration program employing 8 men, with helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft assistance has been underway for some time on the 470 km² and is still in progress. A number of samples have been taken from different target areas and results of analysis of these samples will probably be coming in at intervals until approximately the end of the year.

So far no more than 10% of the $5.0 million contemplated in the agreement with Diamond Discoveries has been spent.
