Am I imagining this or does it appear that virtually EVERY SEM is required to get a ~70% haircut (torso-cut...?) before we can move on? Unless I missed some specific news, the fact that AMAT is getting clobbered today while the rest of the sector, IN GENERAL, is doing O.K. (i.e. a mixed bag) strongly suggests that even the gorillas are not immune from a comeuppance.

I make this point because, from my (limited) perspective, AMAT appears, AT THIS POINT IN TIME, to have relinquished its leadership position for the sector. This could all change in 15 minutes...but for now, some of the old patterns appear to be crumbling.

BTW, I started a portfolio of 8 SEM's at the close of last Thursday (the Hubris-SEM portfolio siliconinvestor.com.

This selection of 8 equipment stocks is down, on average, over 10% in less than 3 trading sessions.

Would 'golly!' be appropriate?
