Believe it or not, magnolia's and azaleas are grown here but not widely. There is one particular yard that I see with a magnolia blooming in it every spring. In the piedmont of NC, where I used to live, there are several different kinds of magnolia, some are early blooming and other wait until the season gets underway. Every spring I really miss them. They are a grand tree. I also miss the dogwoods. I've seen dogwoods about 150 miles south of here blooming in the wild in the springtime but this must be just beyond their northernmost range. Alas!
