I don't dispute that the valuation of Corvis is high. Valuation in the industry is also high. But the statement that "there's only so much information that can be absorbed" in 24 hours misses the point of broadband. Dial-up is ok for some purposes, but broadband is far superior for highspeed data transfer, such as downloading software, downloading Adobe Acrobat documents, streaming video, which means things like tele-education and tele-medicine. There's just no comparison. I can download, for example, the proposed US budget from OMB on Adobe Acrobat in seconds on my RoadRunner cable Internet, which you may not want to do but I've used for evaluating defense contractors. Frank Coluccio just posted today about a company that uses video over broadband for training employees. If it's there, people are going to use it.
