You are accusing Compaq, IBM, HP, DELL, Gateway et al of selling unreliable systems using Intel's 1GHz CuMine.

Yes. The temperature of the CPU in the case of a computer can easily go over 60 degrees hence an unreliable computer. If these computers were being sold to computer rooms of corporations, that would be probably ok. But inside a residential apartment?

I think there was a poster praising Intel's "stability". Well you are not getting it with 1 GHz Piii CPU.

Maybe with the next stepping....

If you were a completely unsuspecting buyer, I would not fault you for buying one of these 1 GHz machines if you see it at your local retailer. But with the benefit of all the information here on SI, I think it is not wise to know that there is a lemon out there, and to actually buy it. Let the other fools buy it, and just collect your penny dividend from that sale.
