The FCPGA 1.0 GHz P3s (Socket 370) are only manufactured in cC0 stepping and function up to 70°C.

Ok, that explains it. It's not as bad as the 60C. Where did you find out this info? I couldn't find very much on cC0 stepping. I thought that the complete cC0 stepping was recalled with Piii 1.13 GHz. I guess it's just a further proof that cC0 was not broken, it was just overclocked by Intel way beyond it's safety margin.

The sad thing is that the folks here are willing to just religiously follow the Intel PR statements without thinking for themselves. They argue that 60C is fine, while clearly it's a joke.
