Will: Murali hit the nail right on the head when he opined that Dubya has been imitating Clinton style for quite some time now. However, I will take it one step further. Whoever is elected -- Dubya or the Vice President -- either candidate will expand the role of (1) the federal government and (2) turn the country more toward socialism. The major is nuts if he thinks Bush represents a path toward true conservatism. Lest we forget, the greatest expansion of the role of the federal government in the second half of the 20th century came during the Reagan-Bush years, 1980-92, when we saw record deficits and voodoo economics. The Republican Party clearly is not the party of "less government." You'd have to go to a third party to find that.
