I am not a luddite or minimalist.
This is the 4th or 5th home PC I've bought, and I've always (up till now), bought the fastest/newest/priciest Intel CPU.

My latest PC has:
21" monitor
a graphics chip with more memory in it than the whole computer 2 PCs ago
ethernet card
cable modem
the most expensive sound card and speakers Dell offers
256MB RDRAM

But, my point is, I didn't get the latest/most expensive from Wintel.
