| I did watch the debate, biting my fingernails, hoping that Bush would do OK. Well, I admit to being partisan, but I think he did good. I really do. Watched it on C-SPAN, which did a split screen between both candidates throughout the whole debate, and I thought Gore acted very rude, and Bush acted professional, when the other was talking. Clicked over briefly to CNN, and they weren't doing the split-screen thing, so I guess the voting public didn't get that nuance. Hope you realize that as a trial lawyer I know dirty tricks that win, don't think Gore's dirty tricks are winners, e.g., tearing up paper loudly and laughing when Bush was making a good point. But the proof is in the pudding, waiting for the poll results. Sleeping more soundly tonight, that's for sure. |
