On Topic -

;)

No presidential debating on the thread tonight?

Here's what I noticed as someone who doesn't know who to vote for yet and hasn't followed the race much until tonight -

Gore is going for the meat of America (middle class) with his tax cut, Bush is going for tax cut for rich and poor.

Gore is for trying to use more advanced energy types (I could imagine Scumbria smiling) and stay dependent on world for oil. Bush says use Alaska's oil and was for clean coal. Gore chimed in with a "me too" about clean coal.

For education, both of them seemed to have come up with a bunch of stuff they probably won't follow through with if they win. Like Gore's $10K tax deductible for college and Bush's giving money to people.

Military - Bush wants to spend more money to make it stronger. This answer keeps me away from Bush. Who knows how much he'll spend... I don't remember Gore's answer, so it was probably not worth remembering.

One BS answer that stuck out was Bush's answer to what he would do if there were a financial crisis. He answered he would talk to Greenspan, sec of Treasury, and someone else and gather facts first. I could have pulled that answer out of my a$$ also...

Bush claimed Gore was using funky numbers and "fuzzy" math. Bush answered a question that attacked Gore's fund raising while Gore tried to take the high ground by saying he won't attack character, but I think that's only because he doesn't have anything to rebut his temple raising. ;)

Bush had to fight to find words to fit in his mouth sometimes.

Bush seemed genuine in his answers. Gore looked like he was trying too hard.

My conclusion - still don't know who to vote for!
