Ah there's a certain sick pleasure in an announcement like this <g>: "07:20 ET Knight Trading (NITE) 32 3/16: A day after ABN AMRO downgrades stock and slashes estimates, NITE issues a Q3 earnings warning. Market maker sees Q3 earnings of $0.13-$0.16 a share vs Zacks mean of $0.36. (NITE says its previously target range of earnings was $0.22 to $0.27). Attributes weakness to less volatility in the market, as order flow moved to highly liquid securities." Of course this is why these type of folks are fighting for a return to their old way of life.
