Bush is right, Putin has offered to mediate, and Russia has close ties to Milosevic and Serbia and is in an ideal position to mediate this because they are the non-NATO big dog in the region. Gore's wrong, Putin has already gone on record as saying the dispute about the election should be resolved by the Yugoslavian Federal Election Commission or by a court. It's not up to Russia to recognize Kostunica, at least not at this point, the official election results haven't even been released yet, have they? - and if they do, how can they effectively mediate in the situation? Yeah, I noticed Gore's little smirk when he pronounced "Kostunica." He's good with inconsequential details, but he can't see the big picture, never could.

Edit: Kostunica, for one, is willing to meet with Putin without any restrictions.
