Panic selling... this is a term I use when there is a sudden increase in volume associated with a sudden drop in price and when we are close to a new low for the year. When this happens, without bad news being the cause for the downdraft, that usually means a buying opportunity for the next day. This kind of "panic selling" is great for risk takers who understand that this is probably an opportunity to get in.
When the price drops slowly, this is much tougher to know where the bottom is... just my opinion.
