Death is not the beginning of the end but the end of the beginning. Makes me wonder if that is not being used as an excuse for evading ones own personal responsibility.

Again, unprovable proposition, but I think I agree with the conclusion - evasion of personal responsibility. I agree those atrocities done by people in God's name may have been done against YOUR world view. You seem a decent enough fellow. But others don't share your view. Just last week a Catholic priest attacked an abortion clinic with his car and an axe and had to be repelled by gunfire from a shotgun wielding doctor.

Fortunately no one was killed in this melee. What if some child was run over while there with his Aunt who was there with her Sister-in-Law who asked her to come with her because her husband was killed when she was raped? Or some teenage girl who became impregnated by her stepfather? How on Earth does that fit into God's plan? This is madness!!! This wasn't an "extremist", BTW. He was the head of a local church.

When people of small minds and without your apparent intelligence and rationality start quoting Scripture, they get themselves into a lather and start ACTING. It is those acts that I oppose, not the thoughts or beliefs inside their heads. Heck, I don't even oppose the Scripture. I just don't believe it.
