(AP) -- A trailer carrying 26 alligator carcasses to a processing plant overturned Wednesday, spilling its cargo onto the highway and closing a lane for an hour. Robert Collins was driving a pickup truck and towing the refrigerated trailer on Interstate 595 when the trailer began to sway and he lost control of it, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Collins drove into the median, where the trailer overturned. The carcasses, which weighed approximately 10,000 pounds, were put on a flatbed truck and taken to All American Alligators Processing in Pembroke Park. Copyright 2000 The New York Times Company
