Intel's 4XXGX series has had 4 SDRAM channels since 1996. I know because I've configured servers using that chipset. Systems could be configured using 1, 2, or all 4 of the channels. When all channels were used, DIMMS had to be added in sets of 4. When will there be 4 channel RDRAM system?
