OEM Deal with Legend Computers

ACD Systems Forges OEM Deal with Legend Computers to Distribute Over 1.8 Million
Software Units in China


VICTORIA, British Columbia, Oct. 4 /CNW/ -- ACD Systems
International Inc. (TSE: ASA), a leading digital imaging and network
communications company, today announced that Legend Computer Systems, China's
largest PC manufacturer, will pre-install ACDSee software in more than
1,800,000 units produced to the end of 2001.

"With this new partnership with Legend Computers, ACD is breaking into the
largest and fastest growing market in the world," said Kevin Hawe, Vice
President, Sales and Marketing for ACD Systems. "ACDSee is now positioned as
the digital imaging platform of choice for corporations and individuals in
China."

With 15 million users worldwide, ACDSee is a fast, full-featured image
viewer, browser, database, file management, and image manipulation tool all in
one. ACDSee is available to over 82% of Internet users worldwide in their
native languages, namely English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese,
Korean and Chinese with translations into Dutch, Swedish and Portuguese
underway.

ACD software is bundled with leading products from some of the world's top
original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) including Hewlett Packard, Kodak,
Packard Bell, Canon and NEC. ACDSee has also been inducted to the Stroud's
2000 Hall of Fame, putting it in the same league with Internet Explorer and
Netscape Navigator.

Since 1994, sales of Legend PCs have doubled annually. Legend's market
share in China has climbed from 10.7% in 1997 to 17% by the end of the first
