w molloy re: 18% royalties on wcdma Since the more popular handsets will be bi-modal in nature (GSM/GPRS-WCDMA), the royalties a manufacturer not holding IPR (in GSM and wcdma) for x-licensing will have to pay is somewhere around 30-35%.
