KLP: With all due respect, maybe that's why you weren't up there.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Well, the Canadian press is all a fuddle-duddle (if you recall, "fuddle-duddle" was one of Pierre Elliot Trudeau's infamous statements) over the death of our famous P.E.T.

True to the left-wing, got-to-hate Americans-because-they-are-robbing-us-of-our-culture attitude which is propagated by the government and media up here, I would be surprised if Gore and Bush actually make it to our news broadcasts at all.

I have no doubt that the now very dead former Prime Minister will be canonized, have airports and malls named after him, have a zillion books written about him, have a zillion books written about his kids (both legitimate and illegitimate), have a frigging holiday named after him, and be forever revered by our media as super-human.

(And you wonder why I take an interest in American politics?! It's because our political scene is so pathetically predictable.)

Sigh again.

Seems PET was human after all.

There is a thread here on SI "So Long, Mr. Trudeau" if you want to learn more. As you guessed, I have posted there (can't resist). A couple of us on the thread are waiting until three days after his burial to see if he rises again.
