Thank you, Gary for a timely response. September same store sales(SSSS) may be ok but not for Gap. Ames Home Sale catalog has just been received; I am impressed.

E-commerce has to have money anchoring the site; that is why I suggested large organizations and their members, by advertizing in their house organs. There is no magic to the e-business. You pull the money in(not lurkers); and you deliver at the store layaway window or customer service desk. It is pretty much a catalog sales business(total market $65 billion). Walmart website is run by amateurs(in Waltham, Mass if I am correct) unless the former Gap(e-commerce was only $100 million) president has not gotten it run right yet.

AMES will be alright with the merchandise selections they are running with the Home Sale catalog. It is upscale at bargain bagsful prices. AMESMED.com has to have a nice catalog and presented on the site as such.

Regarding general market conditions, Oct 17 always(each year) give us headache going back to 1987. Cash squeeze due to pull backs forced the issue. After labor day, market tends to get pushed up for the fall. This year much money will be on the side line, in anticipation of bottoming out on tech stocks. After all, the famous European three month vacation(is that the same as bad weather?) is over. And X'mas is here.
