meathead....re: "where have they lost badly"

actually, no where...there sales are exemplary.....

what must be considered is concern over where future growth comes from....

europe, pre euro has proved problematic for dell. the masses in china are not adding unit sales immediately as many on this thread believed.

they have executed proficiently in the north american continent. but is the dell model applicable and able to gain market share internationally?

no conspiracies, no political paybacks, just basic physics which entails more effort to move a large mass.

dell made tremendous gains in a fledgling pc market....they now are the market in the usa....how much more growth in the usa is possible, pc wise?

the areas of potential growth are deeply entrenched with the likes of sunw and emc.....and as you aptly put: "customers who don't like changes...."

dell the company is at a transition point....dell the stock is being priced as if the company is a leviathan.

this is reality....

read my posts for the past few weeks.....downward momentum difficult to stop without a significant jolt. institutions are selling. the large float makes rapid upward movement difficult, but conversely can cause down ward motion.

dell the stock will bob up and down....the bias appears to be to the downside as small and large shareholders lock in profits. it needs to base, hopefully in the mid twenties...

forty, with current environment, is very distant....

good luck...ed a.
