Heads up..a new licensee for ATCO HSS American Technology Corp. Signs Licensing Agreement With SOUNDIDEAS for HyperSonic Sound Technology
SAN DIEGO, Oct 5, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- American Technology Corp. (Nasdaq:ATCO) today announced that it has signed a licensing agreement for its HyperSonic Sound (HSS(TM)) technology with SOUNDIDEAS, a Southern California-based company, to develop and market specific products and services utilizing HSS technology for use within the Trade Show, Exhibit, Event, and Point-of-Purchase markets.
"Over the past two years, SOUNDIDEAS has identified and actively engaged recognized leaders within each of our target markets, focusing on how HSS, with its unique audio qualities, will forever change the way sound is incorporated in their products and services," said Doug Paschall, co-founder of SOUNDIDEAS. "Following a successful evaluation of ATC's recently completed digital version of HSS, we anticipate the demand from our client base to be immediate and significant."
Terry Conrad, president of ATC, stated, "This is the first step in bringing HSS technology to the world stage. We are very pleased to have SOUNDIDEAS as a licensee of HSS and working with us to begin its commercialization in specific multi-billion dollar markets. We will be working closely with SOUNDIDEAS to implement HSS in specific customer applications for which it is ideally suited."
ATC's Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development Bob Todrank, added, "SOUNDIDEAS' business model is very focused and we expect they will successfully penetrate markets offering tremendous opportunities for HSS. SOUNDIDEAS offers ATC the first of many expected introductions of HSS to the general public on a broad commercial basis."
HyperSonic(TM) (HSS(TM)) Sound Technology, developed in the laboratories of American Technology Corp. in San Diego, is a revolutionary sound reproduction system. The most important quality of HSS(TM) is the ability to direct or focus sound into a tight beam, similar to the beam of light from a flashlight. Not since the development of the "cone" loudspeaker more than 75 years ago has any technology provided such a significant departure from conventional speakers and such a remarkable approach to the reproduction of sound.
