Arete Industries' Subsidiary Arete Outdoors Announces an Order For 2,000 SnowFang(TM) Snowshoes for the 2001-2002 Winter Season
BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Arete Industries, Inc. (BB:AREE) announced that its outdoor adventure products subsidiary, Arete Outdoors, has received an order for 2,000 SnowFangs(TM) Snowshoes from Jeff Lowe's Cloudwalker. The order is for a minimum of 2,000 private label snowshoes for sale through Cloudwalker's distribution network, which has been growing rapidly to support the increasing popularity of its new technical alpine clothing line.

Jeff Lowe, President of Cloudwalker, stated "We are currently carrying Arete Outdoor's SnowFangs(TM) in our product line for this season, and expect great success as a complementary product. We want to build on that success and put our own brand on it for next year. To do that we are willing to commit to a minimum production run of a private label version of the SnowFangs(TM)."
Starting small with Arete's SnowFangs(TM) snowshoes and six pieces of clothing this season, Cloudwalker plans to expand its product line next season with additional performance apparel, climbing hardware, sleeping bags, tents, packs, and the private label snowshoes. Cloudwalker is currently making a vest and pullover in a quilted material, which Cloudwalker claims has "superior function" over traditional fleece materials. The other four garments are made of a high-performance stretch fabric made by the Swiss manufacturer, Schoeller.
