Well the best person to read for that (rights taken away) is James Bovard who has researched the erosion of our rights for a living. And I have to go exercise. Briefly: Property rights: The exorbitant fees, charges, taxes, detailed zoning that tells you every little thing you may or may not do on your own land....you don't even own it once you've paid for it, it can be taken away for nonpayment of taxes, so that's rent. This is even if there are no services being given, such as raw land... Personal example: down the rural road where I live the people at the end of the road bought 13 acres many many years ago in order to build a home for each of their children when they grew up. (4 children). Now the zoning laws have changed and they have been told they can only build one house more (they already have one that they live in) and to do that must give 4 acres to the government! Sounds like blackmail and extortion to me. So they did that. But they still can't build even one house because the govt now wants the road paved and noone in the neighborhood will agree. So they have gated off the road and we are not allowed to walk there anymore. Don't blame them: the land they gave to the govt has to be "protected" and if any weed or animal, etc is "hurt" there they are liable! Another example: I am a teacher in a public school and have seen children taken right out of school by social services. I said to the principle "How can you allow this, call the parents"...He said "I'm just doing what I'm told". The parents don't even know what happened: their child just does not come home. This is often done simply because someone called and said the child is being abused or neglected: no trial no finding of fact no due process. I can't go into all the erosion of rights, it would take so long. But our 2nd amendment rights are being infringed daily. Victimless crime puts innocent people in jail: their freedom is taken away.
