Hi Bonnie, Rob, Tech, Nolimitz Just got back from Montréal. Feel like I’ve been put through a wringer. I’m physically exhausted, emotionally drained and overwhelmed by a deep sense of loss. I met many fellow westerners during the past week and they helped refute the image of “redneck parochialism” that is so prevalent in the west by their ability to see past provincial self-serving interests and appreciate Pierre Elliott Trudeau for what he was. It was an amazing experience. There is one quote from Trudeau that his son related at the service, which struck me: “Never attack the individual. We can be in total disagreement with someone without denigrating them as a consequence”. I think I’ll add this to my profile as my favourite quote. Not only that Bonnie, but I came back to discover I had been in Jail, LOL! Gee, now I find myself in the irreverent company of all the great ex-cons, namely, JW and Clappy and you, Bonster. I hardly feel worthy of that distinction although someone out there obviously felt that I had earned my stripes. Now the pressure is on – I’m going to have to live up to my rep LOL. Later, rose
