Yes X! That's what I've been saying. Solon has pointed out that salient metaphysical aspects of God in the Bible are all over the place. It is worse than that. Not only does the Bible not give a definitive, non-conflicting account of God's nature, will or philosophical principles, but when people read this material they take their opinion or that of their charismatic opinion leaders and go with it. They start acting based upon the Scripture that suits them. I don't think it really matters in the grand scheme of things what people believe. It is how they act when they believe it. "Oh, no, Canaanites is a metaphor. Today it would mean [insert the group here you want to kill ...]"
