NEC and ADI Team Together to Deliver Robust Residential & SOHO Communication Solutions DALLAS, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- NEC America, Inc. (NEC) today announced an agreement with ADI for distribution of NEC's InfoSet(TM) 408 key telephone system.
Under the agreement, ADI, America's largest wholesale distributor of low voltage and security products, will sell the NEC InfoSet 408 system to the North American marketplace. The InfoSet 408 system provides numerous affordable solutions for today's modern residential environment. For example, parents and children can make multiple simultaneous connections to the phone and Internet. It will also provide high speed DSL internet connectivity with full firewall protection. In addition, the InfoSet 408 system delivers a feature rich business telephone system and communication server for the growing number of telecommuters and small business operations.
``This relationship will provide residential and small business consumers accessibility to a robust communication system,'' stated Don Stough, Director of Channel Distribution, NEC America, Inc., Corporate Networks Group. ``With ADI capturing a majority of the structured wiring market in the U.S., this represents a valuable strategic partnership for NEC. Joining forces with a market leader like ADI gives us a tremendous opportunity to deliver an advanced, but affordable, solution into many residential homes and small businesses.''
NEC's relationship with ADI represents the first opportunity for NEC to partner with a wholesale security products distributor. It marks an ongoing effort to expand sales through new and varied distribution channels.
``As part of ADI's ongoing initiative to provide the low voltage installer with comprehensive, user friendly solutions, the InfoSet 408 system was an excellent fit,'' stated Marc Mandelbaum, ADI Product Manager for Sound & Communication Products. ``It is a robust, yet straightforward solution that allows homeowners and small business owners to design a relatively sophisticated communications system. NEC will increase ADI's value proposition, especially in new home construction where a customer may want to leverage the installation of other ADI products with the installation of a NEC InfoSet 408 system.''
``It was important to partner with a communications manufacturer that has its pulse on the needs of our mutual customer base and responds with the development of new products that meet those needs. NEC is successful on both fronts with its InfoSet 408 system,'' continued Mr. Mandelbaum. ``By partnering with NEC, we can provide our customers with an innovative communications product from a premier telephony manufacturer.''
The two companies will also engage in joint activities to mutually support the relationship. This includes the ADI Expo program, which brings together ADI customers, sales associates and product partners in a forum that provides product training, seminars and practical product demonstrations.
