Michael,

"I would love to see a SOX rally today in the face of the Merrill comments."

So would I, but do you know what I'd REALLY love to see?

A plausible explanation for what's going on with the brokerage houses and their continual bad-mouthing of the semi-tech arena. Its almost as if they have mounted a concerted effort to drive it into the dirt.

Yes, there is uncertainty about PC sales, but PC's are no longer the driving force they once were for the industry.

Yes, there is uncertainty about when the "cycle" will end, but they seem to be falling all over one another to be the first to call it, with little hard evidence to back it up. If techs are so shaky now, what are the industries that have LESS uncertainty about their 1- 2 year future?

We could all go on with a bunch of similar arguments, ad nauseum, but none would affect the current calls by the "analcysts" (thanks, Ian) to pound the semi-techs down. The question remains in my mind, WHY?

Any answers out there?

Regards,

Knip
