If the economy were to go into a recession then the market action makes more sense. In a recession the market is adjusting to the fact that there might be cut backs in IT spending. Why is MU down 5 after posting such stellar earnings ? Why is the SOX down when the earnings outlook is so bright ? The fact that Michael Dell 2 weeks ago mentioned that DELL wouldn't be affected by INTC's shortfall and 2 weeks later announces a shortfall means that when a slowdown occurs orders can be pulled back abruptly. I think the market is trying to price in the risk of a recession. Thanks Anindo
