LoF,
I debated vouchers with a fellow who argued that it would take money from the public schools and leave them in ruin. That is typical of most who argue that side of the issue. His wife is running for school board and she said where are you going to send kids for $3,000 a year, the only people able to afford it are the rich and you would just give them the 3K.

Asked both if they agreed that early educational years were the most important. They agreed whole heartedly.

I named a number of K-6 schools that cost about 3K, that were better than public school. They agreed, but what about those left behind. They noted that in Milwaukee, their home town that most went to parochial school and the public schools were a mess and money was needed to fix it.

So, what gives? Milwaukee cannot even manage what they have despite getting all the tax dollars from those kids sitting in catholic school. When I pointed this out; they were dumb founded...end of discussion.

Regards,
Dutch
