<< Did we reach a conclusion on whether or not *AMD* actually said those very words? (new speed grade every X weeks) >>

From zdnet yesterday:
zdii.com

AMD Chairman and CEO Jerry Sanders stated recently that it's his goal for the company to reach 1.5GHz with a desktop Athlon in January. To meet the goal, AMD will ship faster Athlons approximately every five to six weeks.

How about this scenario: 1.2 ghz released on Oct 9th/16th, 1.3 and 1.4 ghz mustangs released mid/late novemember. 1.5 ghz mustang released sometime in january. This gives us all speed grades on path, and it might be feasible since mustang should scale better. Also, it would keep all introductions over a month before christmas to be all set for the season.
