<If I need an operation here in B.C., I'll have to go down to the U.S.>

Funny you should say, I needed an operation last August in Central Ontario. Instead, the Doctor suggested I hire a Red Cross plane to take me back to the U.S.; she was serious.

I had the operarion in the U.S. 2 weeks ago. Been a nightmare trying to work out the insurance deals between Blue Cross Insurance and Canada ever since. They are particularly incensed that the Canadian version of an ambulance is a helicopter.

Sc**w Blue Cross, I would have died without that helicopter. I have no idea why it was better to have the operation in the States but here is where I had it, simply because the Canadian Doctor insisted on it. I'm certain it had nothing to do with the quality of medicine in Canada. I was puzzled by the concern at the time but I survived so I suppose the advice was well-founded.
