Joe - RE: "If you say this, it is an evidence that Bush did not communicate his plan well enough. In short, Bush's tax cut is bigger, and all income levels get it, and at all income levels get more of it. His tax cut is neutral, meaning you don't have to do anything special to get a tax cut."
Well, that's (Gore middle, Bush high, low) what I perceived from watching the debate, although now that you mention it I remember Bush saying it was for everyone. If Gore was being slick about what he said about Bush, Bush didn't do as good of as job as was necessary to get his point across. Bush kept talking about lower class and I don't remember him mentioning the middle.
"I guess you are referring to vouchers. I think it is a great way from a system that is beyond repair in many places. If the government bureaucrat can't find the lowest quality bidder to provide kids with education, why not take the money from the bureaucrat and give it to the parent, and let the parent find a quality supplier of education?"
Yeah, that is what I was referring to. But to me, it just sounds like an idea Bush people came up with to try to sway voters to his side. I really doubt he would follow through with this if he wins. Same with Al Gore and his $10K deductible for college. If it gets them some votes and doesn't offend people they'll say it... |
