U.S. Department Of Energy Selects Kasten Chase's RASP Secure Media To Secure And Protect Fixed And Portable PCs

KASTEN CHASE APPLIED RESEARCH LTD ("KCA-T;KCARF-L")
- U.S. Department Of Energy Selects Kasten Chase's RASP Secure Media
- To Secure And Protect Fixed And Portable PCs

Kasten Chase Announced That It is working with the United States Department of Energy (DOE) on deployment plans for its RASP Secure Media product. This
represents the single largest scale deployment opportunity for RASP Secure Media since receiving approval from the U.S. Government's National Security Agency
this past June.

The system will be used to fully encrypt and otherwise totally secure the operating systems, applications and user data resident on DOE PCs, thereby rendering them
useless and fully inaccessible by unauthorized users and totally protected in the event of loss or theft of the device.

Jim Davies, president and chief operating officer at Kasten Chase commented: "Once again, we believe that being first to market with this highly advanced and truly
compelling security technology will pay off as we drive to expand market share both in the government and commercial market places."

"We are increasingly reading media reports and seeing industry studies on the loss or theft of PCs containing highly sensitive information, both in the private and
public sectors," added Mr. Davies. "This troubling trend has the potential of reaching epidemic proportions. Much of the security industry's efforts have focused on
securing communication links with little emphasis on protecting the devices that actually store and process the sensitive data; in particular, PCs and web-type servers. This is where much of today's risk really lies and there is little doubt that RASP Secure Media provides the best means of protection available in the market today."

The Department of Energy has purchased an initial supply of RASP Secure Media units for immediate deployment within key classified working groups, making it the
first federal department to undertake the standardization of media security. The DOE expects to begin deployment of RASP Secure Media later this year.

Kasten Chase RASP Secure Solutions is the only system that offers the user the ability to protect both data resident on computing devices and data communicated
between computing devices. The result is that customers can achieve fully integrated end-to-end data security from a single source.
