There are of course no better form of government than ours WAS....but we are rapidly becoming as totalitarian as other governments.
People need to be responsible for themselves and their families: If they are not it is not the government's job to intervene.
The present government, and the last 30 years of encroaching welfare and statist policies have ruined many people's ability to think for themselves and act for themselves as they take the easy way out and seek government help.
It is not worth living if you are a slave: better to protect a "woman's right to chose" than to bring children into a world where they, in turn will be slaves also. Taxes are theft, no doubt about it: there should be no taxes except for the current level of excise taxes which would fund a Constitutional government. People are amazingly resilient: eliminate fees, regulations, zoning (certainly if you want to live in an area with regulations you are welcome to find a private area with such: there always will be those people who prefer that) and they will be able to run their own small businesses out of their home and care for their families less expensively and more lovingly.
But if you like government intrusion into your life, and half your money taken away in taxes, and DEA,etc breaking down doors and murdering and maiming people, then there isn't much I can do to change your mind.
Government can never solve problems: it IS the problem and only makes more.
Thanks for the interchange of words.
