You have missed one of the great joys of a North American childhood in the 60's and beyond. Most of us (well maybe just the idiots,...myself included) have heard of blue angels. You get a lighter, hang a moon and fart. If you are lucky, you act like a flame thrower out the rear. If not, you burn your legs and arse (ggggggggggggggggggggggggggg).
Such activity is the life of many pre-teenage and teenage parties.

Anaerobic digestion of sewage converts solid chit to methane gas and other stinky things. If it is done aerobically, the waste usually gets fully oxidized to CO2 and H20. Both steps are normally done in modern sewage treatment plants to fully digest the chit, although methane can be taken off in the first step.
We ain't talking poop doing blue angels. That is too gross and could put out the flame,...it certainly turns the girls off. This is the gas,...the real deal (gggggggggggggggg).
