FBI AGENTS TRY to poke holes in the main "debategate"
suspect's alibi.

Yvette Lozano, an aide to Bush's media consultant, says she was mailing
pants back to the Gap when she was videotaped in an Austin post office at
the same time Bush debate materials were mailed to the Gore camp. The
image is said to be "very clear." That is key because the Bush campaign
says the pants were sent in a plain brown envelope; the debate parcel was
a distinctive Express Mail package.

The pants apparently had enough postage to get to the Gap's Ohio return
center in two days; subpoenaed Gap records show it didn't arrive until a
week later. Investigators also study the debate-package label for
distinctive typewriter marks. Ms. Lozano's fingerprints aren't on the
package, but agents don't want her to know if they are on the contents.

"I'm very confident that my client has done nothing wrong," says her
lawyer, Christopher Gunter.
