How I am estimating my cost basis after spinoff. Until I here more definite information I am using the following. Lucent Price before AV - 30.5 AV Original - 22.9375 Share Ratio - 1 AV : 12 LU AV value / LU Share - 1.91 %age remaining with LU - 93.73% I am therefore applying 93.73% of my cost basis to Lucent. My cost basis for each share of AV would be 12 times 6.27% of my original LU cost basis or 75.2%. I will change this when I get official numbers, but these are my working assumptions. Any comments?
