I saw a post from Bill Jackson that needs correction. He opines that corporate nets can't tell if there's a AMD CPU or and Intel CPU in the system.

That's patently false. There's a BIOS mechanism called DMI (Desktop Management Interface) that identifies by manufacturer, model, and revision level all the major hardware components and firmware interfaces.

Trust me here. I was a BIOS programmer for my entire hitch at Dell.
