Let's not get too excited. Everyone is an arm chair psychologist to some extent. However, as the diagnosis is lifted from the DSM-IV, it is probably more telling to note that Personality Disorders of whatever type require that at least two of the following areas be affected:

1.- cognition
2.- affectivity
3.- interpersonal functioning
4.- impulse control

I don't see that any narcissism on the EmptySuit's part has affected any of those areas.

Moreover, the disorder according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual must result in some impairment in social, occupational or other important area of functioning. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Empty Suit, but no fair-minded person can say that a Presidential candidate does not function effectively in the social or occupational realms.

Gore is undoubtedly a patronizing narcissitic prig. But it's a stretch to say that he's sufficiently so such that it rises to the level required for a diagnosis of a personality disorder which is, after all, A Serious Thing. He's a jerk but he's not crazy.
