I recently discovered that many investors are not keeping consolidated accountings...but simply mirroring all of their individual accountings in electronic form...That activity should be obvious as a lateral endeavor rather than activity that converges to a solution...An accounting must be consolidating...to be something of significance...

Well...Most likely...a consolidated taxable accounting should be kept...and...a consolidated tax-exempt accounting should be kept...and...a checking (with linked savings) accounting should be kept...

HIA Investor Accounting v2 ...is only a three-quarters of a MB installation in a home folder...(when the three DLLs are installed in the "...\Windows\System" folder)...so it is very reasonable to make a separate folder installation for each required accounting...Recommended: One consolidated accounting for all taxable investment activities...and...one consolidated accounting for all tax-deferred investment activities...

Now...Investor Accounting v2 ...allows basic accounting function...so most any accounting activity can be accomplished...(For instance...an employee option grant would be "Buy-to-Open Call Option" at a cost of zero...Exercise of the option would be selling the option at a price of zero, receipt of a dividend FROM the option that is the difference between the option strike and the current underlying stock price...and...purchase of the underlying stock at current stock price from portfolio cash...and...an intermediate value on the option could also be possible...)...

Also...its an abstract point...that the program could be used for a profit/loss business accounting...(with label mismatching)...And the program could be used for a checking accounting...(with label mismatching)...And the program could be used for a personl gain/loss of net worth...(marked as MTD and YTD)...(and with label mismatching)...However...the program is designed and recommended for investment portfolio accounting...Thanks.
