Seems to me a loan vs equity injection are two very different events and would be treated differently on the balance sheet. elena's sleuthing seems to have added additional evidence supporting RS's theory.

I suspect given BLS's penchant for back room deals we won't have conclusive evidence before the scenario actually plays out. Certainly winning an argument here on the boards will have no impact on the reality of what is happening. Best we can do is mull the various theories advanced and watch as things develop. I share your concern regarding accelerated sale of the tranches. I'm going to mull RS's "mechanical" explanation. I'm going to have a beer.
