i may be projecting a bit here...still, in many ways i'm reminded of the railway booms of the 19th century. a vital and for future economic development essential infrastructure is being created by rolling out wireless and fibre-optic networks, and yet the overinvestment will likely lead initially to a bust...and it remains highly questionable whether the telcos doing all this will ever get a reasonable return on their investment.

agree btw. that the market itself is extremely important to all these applications...financial internet traffic ranges right after porn. i think over 1/3 of Yahoos page views concern their financial section. it's almost like a circular self-contained system (Yahoo's stock rises, which creates interest in the market, thereby creating more pageviews for Yahoo, which in turn increases market interest in Yahoo, etc. etc. - a mechanism that has obviously just met up with reality to some extent).

great weekend all!
