One reason, perhaps, for the hefty settlement was the discovery that defending the legal challenge was more costly than anticipated. I think they really wanted to put the matter to rest without the uncertainties of a jury verdict [remember the OJ Simpson case!]. Certainly they must feel that these later patents are valuable. Good job averaging down at 8.5. I hope it was equal dollar averaging or more! SC
