yep...in Britain a homeowner was recently convicted of manslaughter in a similar situation. an outrage imo. in Austria you also have to ask burglars first politely to leave, and if you shoot them there's a good chance that the court will find you in violation of the law. considering that criminals from the former Eastern bloc countries are increasingly active hereabouts and are well known for their brutality and penchant for violence this is rather disconcerting. many have migrated to Western Europe for the richer pickings...
