Maverick,

I noted that you discussed various merger options with the TER IR Department. The two you mentioned were obviously very large companies and I personally view not very likely to reach an agreement as the merger would involve picking a new king. On a related topic, I have often wondered why TER has not looked at acquiring COHU. COHU being the worlds largest test handling equipment maker and trading at an incredible discount would be a natural acquisition for TER. Even though TER's stock is down dramatically from its peak it is still trading at significant PE/PSR premiums to COHU thus making an accretive acquisition attractive. It has no debt, tons of cash, and is a perfect fit for TER. TER has tried to enter the test handling equipment business although I don't believe they have had much success. In one stroke of the pen they could establish themselves as the leader.

I think the market sell off in this industry would turnaround if some M&A activity began as it would highlight the extreme undervaluations vs. other technology.

Good luck!
