Joe, I find the Compaq number surprisingly low.

If you look at Compaq's main product lineup: PCs (Intel and AMD based); Industry Standard Servers (all Intel); Alpha based servers, like the new Wildfire (no Intel); non-stop Kernel machines (formerly Tandem, no Intel); and storage (no Intel except for the new storage appliance), I think the 55% looks about right. Compaq is a lot bigger in storage, for example, than most think. You think of EMC right off the bat, then IBM and NTAP, but I think Compaq is #1 in storage revenues.

Still, in reading the fortune article, I found myself thinking, do they mean just computers, or all products, Intel compatible, or just Intel, etc., etc. The article was not clear at all, we agree on that. I guess if we really want hard numbers we can believe Fortune is not the place to look.
