Chuck, check this out: boards.fool.com Contrary to what Sony appeared to state a few weeks ago, BestBuy (BBY) -- in the U.S. -- has a Sony (Model #PCGF610) in their Sunday advertising supplement (10-8-00). This mobile laptop is sporting an AMD-K6 2+ 550 MHz chip, Windows Me (ed.), 64 MB SDRAM, 6.0 GB HD with a Lilon battery, and a 12.1" TFT Active Matrix display for $1399.99. I would love to buy a VAIO with a Duron 800MHZ. Hopefully, this notebook deal is just a prelude. I just don't think SONY introduces their first AMD-powered computer because it's such a wonderful chip. There must be something more comming from SONY. What do you think? panic
