Hi NightOwl; When do we see this headline?

Infineon to ask ITC to stop importation of RDRAM chips, and products containing them into the United States. Same thing for Europe, but with their trade group. Products include PS/2, RIMMs, and individual RDRAM. Basis is violation of Infineon patents on CMOS latch-up circuitry.

In other words, if Infineon can't make SDRAM, then nobody can make RDRAM. A total breakdown of the industry's cross patenting system. Sure seems like what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

Do you think this would make companies that are considering using Rambus technology think twice? After all, who wants to get involved in a long court battle.

P.S. Infineon says that anyone who fights them in court and loses, will not be licensed at all.
